Terms of Use

Acceptance

These Terms govern your use of BackDoor Map, operated by Cold Forge Works LLC. By using the service, and by accepting these Terms when the app asks you to do so, you agree to follow them. If you do not agree, do not make contributions; you may stop using the service.

What BackDoor Map provides

BackDoor Map provides crowdsourced reports of freight and service entrance locations. Reports, votes, and corrections come from users and may be incomplete, outdated, misplaced, or wrong.

BackDoor Map does not guarantee availability, accuracy, safety, access, authorization, or suitability for a particular purpose. It is not official building information, parking guidance, routing guidance, security or access instructions, authorization to enter property, or emergency guidance.

Your responsibilities

Use the service lawfully and with reasonable care. Verify conditions on site, follow posted signs and property rules, obey applicable laws, and follow instructions from authorized personnel. Do not use the app while driving or in a way that creates a safety risk.

You must not:

  • submit spam, deliberately false locations, or misleading contributions;
  • manipulate votes, corrections, reports, or other service controls;
  • submit door codes, alarm details, private access instructions, personal information, or other sensitive security information;
  • interfere with, probe, overload, reverse engineer, or misuse the service;
  • evade contribution restrictions or rate limits; or
  • use the service to violate law, property rights, or another person's rights.

The Community Standards also apply to contributions.

Your contributions

You keep any rights you may have in information you submit. You give Cold Forge Works LLC a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, modify for formatting or moderation, display, distribute, and otherwise use your submitted map information as needed to operate, improve, secure, and promote BackDoor Map. You represent that you have the right to submit the information.

Moderation and contribution access

We may review reports, reject or hide contributions, preserve moderation records, limit requests, or block an installation from contributing when reasonably necessary to enforce these Terms, protect the service, or address legal or safety concerns. A user report does not automatically remove content. We do not promise to review or act on every report in a particular time.

Service changes and availability

We may change, suspend, or discontinue features, data, or the service. The service may be unavailable or contain errors. We may update these Terms and will post the current version and effective date. Material updates may require renewed acceptance before further contributions.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, BackDoor Map is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of accuracy, reliability, availability, fitness for a particular purpose, noninfringement, or safety. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so some exclusions may not apply.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cold Forge Works LLC and its members, employees, and contractors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss arising from reliance on crowdsourced information, inability to use the service, unauthorized property access, or unsafe conduct. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
